God loves you* and me* because He chose to love you (and me).
God chose us before the foundation of the world. (Ephesians 1:4)
God chose us before we had done anything good or bad. (Romans 9:11)
God doesn’t lie (Titus 1:2). God doesn’t change (Malachi 3:6; James 1:17). God has no second thoughts!
Once God chose you (and me), God chose you (and me) permanently, for eternity.
It doesn’t matter what you’ve (I’ve) done or what you (I) will do.
He knows everything about you (and me), past, present, and future, and He still loves you (and me).
Choosing to love you (and me) means His full, infinite, eternal, steadfast, faithful love. No second-class love. No conditions.
This is enormously comforting and encouraging. Trust Him. Don’t doubt.

Father, please help us really understand the depths of Your love. Please show us the wonder of Your great love. Please help us see the enormity of sending Your Son to live and sacrificially die so that we might live. Please help us see Your love working in our lives moment by moment. Please help us grasp the incredible truth of glory to come.
