While we cannot know all the details of what we will face in 2018, we can know for certain, and prepare for, some.
Here are some sure things that will happen in 2018:
We will have God-given work to do
We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10)
It is a sure thing that God will give us opportunities to serve Him.
Lord, help me be alert, and fulfill, with Your help, the work You have for me.
We will have trouble (John 16:33)
These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world. (John 16:33)
Trouble is inevitable in 2018, and may come from any direction.
Trouble is a sure thing.
Lord, help me look to You not only in trouble, but in calm times. Thank You that You will guide me.
We will have choices
We will have choices to believe…or not.
We will have choices to worship and trust…or not.
We will have choices to practice the truth (John 3:21), or go astray.
We can let our heart be troubled—or not (John 14:1, 27)
We can keep His commandments—or not (John 14:15)
It is a sure thing that we will have choices.
Lord, in all my choices, help me choose to follow You.
God will be with us
Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. (Matthew 28:20)
He Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you. (Hebrews 13:5)
Lord, help me be conscious of You throughout my days.
