No Days Off – And Yet
My mom, usually when she was doing the dishes or ironing, might say: “The problem with life is that it is so daily!”
A retired friend said: “The problem with retirement is that you don’t get a day off.”
As Christians, we are responsible daily
If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me. (Luke 9:23)
I will sing praise to Your name forever, that I may pay my vows day by day. (Psalm 61:8)
But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called “Today…” (Hebrews 3:13)
No Days Off — And Yet
Daily And Yet — Joy in Faithfulness
Yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary. (Isaiah 40:31)
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13)
Daily And Yet — Times of refreshing
Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord; and that He may send Jesus, the Christ appointed for you… (Acts 3:19–20)
Daily And Yet—Rest to come
Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. (Matthew 11:28–30)
There remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. (Hebrews 4:9)
