In a scary time for me, when I had a serious eye issue, didn’t know whether I would retain useful sight, and was far from my doctors, I would wake at night to see if I could still see.
I was scared.
During this same time, I was editing my book (When Storms Come: Will You Be Ready?). Four chapters deal with God’s love. As I carefully reviewed God’s love for His adopted children, in the midst of my scary time, I rejoiced. In fact, I became giddy with assurance that He loves me.
In these dark days, with ominous clouds for the future, we must make sure we both comprehend God’s love and that we place confidence in His love for us. To stay on course, we must have informed trust in His love.
So we have known [ginosko: understand, grasp, ascertain] and believe [pisteuo: be persuaded of, place confidence in, trust] the love that God has for us. God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them. (1 John 4:16)
God loves us, believers in Christ, with an infinite, everlasting love. He has blessed us with every spiritual blessing, and He has given us everything pertaining to life and godliness.
Please study God’s word to us, the Bible. Please prayerfully and daily read about who He is, what He has done, and what He promises. Please, as you know Him better and better, increasingly believe what He says, and order your thoughts and life in that knowledge.
It matters.
Please.
