God is more holy, glorious, powerful, wise, and more, than we can imagine. He is creator. He is judge. He is ….
In Scripture, we specifically are told that He did something for the sake of His Name.
“His Name” is all who God is. His Name is His whole character, His nature, His attributes, His person. His holiness. His glory.
Hallowed be Your Name.
Christians, Rejoice!
My reaction to God acting for His Name’s sake is both awe and relief.
Christians, rejoice that He saved us for His Name’s sake.
He saved them for the sake of His name, that He might make His power known. (Psalm 106:8)
Christians, rejoice that for God’s own sake, He is leading and guiding us in paths of righteousness.
He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. (Psalm 23:3)
You are my rock and my fortress; For Your name’s sake You will lead me and guide me. (Psalm 31:3)
Christians, rejoice that He protects our souls for His Name’s sake.
For the sake of Your name, O Lord, revive me. In Your righteousness bring my soul out of trouble. (Psalm 143:11)
Christians belong to God
God, for the sake of His Name, to act consistently with His holiness, to honor Himself, He absolutely will make His redeemed into the image of Christ. He absolutely will bring us to glory. He has all the power and authority to do so. He has committed to do so. To protect His Name, He must. And He will.
