I just watched video of the devastation in several states from tornados and straight winds. They don’t know yet how many people lost their lives, but it appears to be more than 100 in five states. Folks went to bed, or to work, but didn’t make it until the morning.
We have NO guarantee we will live to die peacefully at an old age.
We are warned
Jesus told a parable of a rich man who had so many crops he decided to build a bigger barn. He said to himself: I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years to come; take your ease, eat, drink and be merry.” (Luke 12:19)
It is not man who controls death, but our Lord Jesus Christ.
I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades. (Revelation 1:18)
And God said to the rich man who was planning to build a bigger barn: You fool! This very night your soul is required of you; and now who will own what you have prepared? (Luke 12:20)
So is the man who stores up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God. (Luke 12:21)

For those who have received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we are guaranteed eternal life with God. We are guaranteed to be presented to the Father holy and blameless. Some of those who died in the storms went to glory.
