The title of this blog is “Pressing on Together.” My welcome note in July 2014 said: This website is dedicated to pressing on: finding hope ahead, forgetting past sins and victories, overcoming barriers, learning how. And moving forward together. My hope was and is that we can help each other energetically pursue Christlikeness, challenging ourselves and each other, learning from each other, encouraging each other.
I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus. Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:12–14)
Like Paul, we know we haven’t become perfect (!). Dissatisfaction with our current spiritual “health,” the state of our daily lives, is motivation to press on.
We are called to a daily, focused, energetic pursuit of Christlikeness. We are called to press on.
Let’s work on this ourselves and encourage others to do so.
