The angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:10–11)
And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased.” (Luke 2:13–14)
Good news of great joy.
Our Savior, Christ the Lord, was born! Celebrate with great joy.
All people are sinners in need of a Savior. We are eternally sunk without a Savior.
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16)
The good news is that salvation is offered to all. To whoever believes in Him.
The invitation is open to all … including those you are praying for.
Glory to God. Peace.
The second message about Christ’s birth, this time from a multitude of the heavenly host, is qualified. The message applies to those with whom God is pleased
Peace from God is for those with whom He is pleased… that is, believers.
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing. (Romans 15:13)
