Bad Results are Good

A bad result from an action is used by God for good in a Christian’s life.

Huh?

There are at least three ways bad results are good

Bad results help us see our own sin, confess, and walk more closely to the Lord.

Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep Your word.” (Psalm 119:67

It is good for me that I was afflicted, that I may learn Your statutes. (Psalm 119:71

Bad results prompt us to pray—for ourselves and for the people we may have hurt

God promises to work all things, including bad results, for good

And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28)

He is making us into the image of His Son. (Romans 8:29

What to do

Strive to live a godly life, of course.

Examine bad results to identify any sin of your own, then confessing and determining to walk more closely to the Lord.

If you’ve hurt others, try to make it right.

Determine to trust God in this, and every, situation.

And!
